Peter Russo - Managing Partner
Peter is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and New South Wales and the high Court of Australia. He has been practising in the area of criminal law for approximately 20 years.
He has been involved in many high profile cases, including representing Dr Mohamed Haneef in 2007 and 2008. He was also the solicitor who represented Khaled Daoed, the person charged with offences resulting out of the ill fated SIEVX vessel's journal to Australia. He has a consistent track record of representing his client fearlessly. Peter is committed to providing his clients with quality representation. He listens closely to clients concerns and works with them to provide them the best possible outcome.
He has a strong commitment to access to justice issues and is a member of the Queensland Law Society Criminal Law Section. He graduated with his Master of Laws from the Queensland University of Technology in 2008. He was named the Australian Newspaper's Australian of the Year in 2007. He has delivered lectures throughout Australia and overseas on matters related to his work.
He has also been a member of The Executive Connection ( TEC ) for 6 years now and was a delegate at their Washington Conference in 2006.
He is a keen fisherman but his commitment to his work and family has seriously curtailed that activity in recent times. On a recent trip to Straddie, standing at Point Lookout, looking out to sea, has rekindled the fisherman instinct in Peter. Watch this space for his adventures in the law and fishing….
